The tickets said to arrive early to meet the crew and animals, so that's exactly what we did. I should've realized with the buy one get one coupons that were all over town that there had to be a money maker in all of it. And the pre-show was just that. To satisfy Abram's desire to want pretty much everything he could see, he was able to choose two things...
The elephant ride (they sort of just threw him up there behind the random adult and he could hardly see, but he smiled the whole way around and didn't really seem to know the difference)
And face painting
The elephants and tigers were amazingly trained
And the acrobats incredibly flexible
Side note and funny story. One of the acrobats wore a turquoise bedazzled ensemble and Abram says, "Mommy, is that a boy or a girl?". I replied, "it's a boy". Abram inquires "then why is he wearing sparkly pants?" We got a few chuckles from the people sitting around us and he probably wasn't the only one thinking it, but he was satisfied in knowing it was just a costume. Note to all those thinking of a 5th birthday present, probably not a sequined leotard, just a thought :)
There was even a dog show and a famous motor cross biker
There was a clown and other miscellaneous acts but I wasn't able to catch everything. Abram's favorite was the tigers, mine the elephants. Overall, we had a great time!
