Balloon Rally

This past weekend was the annual balloon rally in town. We had never been to the event, and had heard that watching the large balloons fill up and glow once dusk hit was pretty amazing. And it truly was. Abram loved every bit of it. There were traditional hot air balloons and several animal shaped balloons and a large space shuttle balloon.

There were a few games for the kiddos. Abram chose the bungy trampoline (it was hard not to get a blurry picture with the constant jumping)

We went with our family friends. I was always the little girl and youngest of all the kids growing up, so it was fun to have our kids play together (and Abram always loves playing with the older kids). Pate and Emily jumped with Abram. Here they are all harnessed up.

There was a catch and release fishing pond. Kevin showed Abram the ropes of trout fishing. Abram probably caught close to 10 fish and was so excited with each catch. Kevin designs fishing lures, so if you're in the market for that sort of thing, check out his website www.esoxedge.com

At dusk all the balloons fire-up and "glow"

The rally ends on Saturday with fireworks and since we were rained out on the 4th we were excited to see the show. Kevin is a flight for life nurse so we had front row seats on the tarmac. And we were able to get a tour of the helicoptor. For those of you who know Abram and his excitement when he sees a helicoptor or plane fly by, he was more than thrilled to be up close.

And we were able to see a few of the personal planes in the hanger

The fireworks were great!
