Ice Capades

I took Abram to his first hockey game last week and he was mesmerized, sat still and quiet (both quite an accomplishment :)) for the first period. He loved the skaters, the action, and the Zamboni. So I thought maybe he would get a kick out of skating too. So, Aunt Melissa and I took him on his first skating adventure last weekend in Madison. He did so great. He started out a little cautious but by the end we couldn't even get him off the ice.

What a stud!

We started out holding Abram's hand...there were a few falls..

the first fall was traumatic but once he realized he survived and it was ok to keep trying he pressed on full force. His confidence soared to skating on his own! And not even with the beginner double blade skates, these were the real deal baby.

Look at the smile on his face, he was so proud of his accomplishment! And so was Mommy! I couldn't believe how balanced he was...what a rock star!

This looks like he's attempting some fancy jump, but really just mastering getting up on his own after falling. We'll work on the triple axle next time buddy!

That's amazing! He looks like such a big man in his shades and single blade skates. Way to go, Abram! Come visit us soon and maybe you can talk Ellie into trying ice skating, she's kind of a chicken. :)

That looks like so much fun! Great talking on Skype last night. Gia is always so energized by her talks with big cuzzie Abram. She just loves him so much.
