Over the past nine months, our family has had to make tough decisions and difficult sacrifices. The most recent being the departure of our beloved dog Lillie. For those of you that don't know, Lillie has been a member of our family since she was a tiny puppy six years ago.
I can remember the day that we went to pick her up. Megan waited in the car while I went into the kennel to officially adopt our furry friend. Megan recalls a person walking out of the building with the CUTEST little puppy curled up in their arms. It was seconds later that she realized that the adorable little thing was in MY arms.
She was smart, unique, friendly, loving, and a trustworthy companion. We were elated to find that both of our dogs were magnificent with Abram when he first arrived. Lillie took on a maternal role and seemed to protect and "clean" him when he lay there helplessly. This all changed when our son became mobile. She suddenly became very uncomfortable around him and even snipped a few times. This was of course unacceptable, but we determined that she was to good of a dog to have "put down." We wanted to find her a home where she would receive more attention than we could give and where she would not have the "burden" of young children. This past week, the Lord blessed us with a perfect new owner for our wonderful Lillie. We know that she will be much happier and that she will be greatly missed (fortunately, we still have Moab to cuddle with).
We thank our Blessed Father for placing this animal in our care for the past six years.

I'm going to start crying. That picture of her is at once adorable and pathetic. We'll all miss Lillie.
